Program Coordinator
Under My Management…
I established and managed a communication platform by creating a Discord server for the youth volunteers.
-
Improved volunteer organization and simplified onboarding. This made it easier to share volunteering opportunities for smaller events and communicate important updates
Allowed volunteers to quickly accumulate volunteer hours and increased overall participation
Under my guidance, four youth volunteers were honored with the prestigious President’s Volunteer Service Award for their exceptional dedication to community service
Created an active resource with 250+ volunteer members, which continues to grow
I organized bi-weekly workshops and volunteer training for the Fall Festival.
-
The workshops also focused on cultural education, leadership development, and real-world experience for volunteers.
This led to GCC qualifying for a $5k grant from the Cathay Foundation and a $30k grant from CAACF, enabling further community outreach and program expansion.
I documented and organized content showcasing volunteer experiences and program impact.
-
Increased visibility for the program, passively attracting more volunteers. Making it easier to pitch the program to potential partners and the public.

Fall Festival Volunteer Execution
Fall Festival Volunteer Meeting 5
Guest speakers were invited to address public awareness and public safety. We conducted a self-defense workshop with the youth, where our volunteers had the opportunity to practice punching, kicking, and self-defense maneuvers alongside Paul Lin's team of trained professionals. Officer William Kwok and former NYPD detective Michael Moy were invited to speak about community service, provide deeper insights into the NYPD, and hold a general Q&A session on how to keep yourself and others safe.
Fall Festival Volunteer Meeting 4
Our team leaders guided volunteers throughout their respective training process and helped them develop their communication and public speaking skills.
Activity management team volunteers went through protocols in case a child lost sight of their parents, and line management team volunteers received customer service training to provide a positive experience for everyone participating in the event.
Fall Festival Volunteer Meeting 3
Dr. Chou, a recognized specialist in Asian culture and curator for various art exhibitions was invited to open the meeting up with a Cultural Conference and in-depth presentation on Culture. The last topic was the historical importance of calligraphy and its origins, which Dr. Chou transitioned into a calligraphy workshop. Every student was able to practice calligraphy with a brush and ink, and they used what they learned to draw on paper fans, which they could take home.
Fall Festival Volunteer Meeting 2
Guest speakers @yiandychen and @crt4ny shared insightful experiences about community service. The meeting concluded with an engaging round table discussion. Over the following two months, students dedicated their time to planning and training for our Fall Festival community outreach event, which took place in September 2022.
